Christingles 🍊

Image
A Christingle is made from an orange, four small sticks, sweets and a candle and is used by Christians to celebrate Jesus as the Light of the World. Each part the the Christingle has an important meaning: the candle represents Jesus as the Light of the world, the four sticks represent the four seasons, the ribbon represents the blood of Jesus, the sweets represent the fruits of the Earth and the orange represents the world.  Today we had a special visit from Olwen and James from the village to support the children making their own Christingle ready for the Christingle service in church on Thursday. The children had a lovely time!

Internet Safety

Image
On Tuesday afternoon, the Infants and Juniors joined together and split into 3 groups to explore Internet Safety. The children each visited 3 workshops. The children discussed how they use the internet; sites they visit, games they play and things that they watch. From these discussions, we then explored problems that may be encountered, such as unknown people 'befriending' them, age restrictions on certain games as well as inappropriate content appearing when searching the web. Reader in the spotlight! We are so proud of all of our juniors for their dedication and enthusiasm for reading. Today, Chloe felt confident enough to read to all of the juniors. Chloe’s reading has really progressed and she should be so proud of herself. Your expression and enthusiasm is excellent. Keep up the good work! ☺️

We are scientists: Investigating how to make a circuit

Our new science unit is electrical circuits and components.  Given the components, Leopards had to work out how to make a circuit. Showing lots of our school values, with much determination, resilience and working together, they all managed to make a complete working circuit.

Forest schools- recycle, reuse and repurpose

It's always such a pleasure to have an afternoon with the Leopards! We've been getting really excited this afternoon, thinking of ways to help the environment. We decided to head off into the village to litter pick. We walked through the village, down to the church grounds, where we found some interesting finds that the children are looking forward to repurpose into some fabulous art.   The children worked brilliantly together, taking turns to carry the bin bags, use the litter pickers and nets. They listened well to one another and took great care around the village.
