TT Rockstars day

Image
The Juniors have come to school today looking amazing! They were asked to come dressed as a rockstar as part of our Maths Week England celebrations. I have to say that they really went to town and they totally rocked the rockstar look! Well done Juniors, you rock!

Maths Week England Day 2

Image
Today for Maths Week England we took part in an online escape room called The Bullion Heist. We had to solve lots of clues and learn lots of maths to solve it and recover the gold bullion which had been stolen by the Metza tribe.  There were 5 missions to complete and some were really tricky.  We managed to solve the escape room though with only a few questions that we couldn’t figure out straight away.  As part of it we learnt about prime numbers, square numbers, factors and palindromes.  What a busy morning!

Maths week England day 1

Today is the first day of Maths Week England and we have started to plan an enterprise project. Miss B gave us £10 and said we had to plan and cost a project that would make us more money by the end of the week. We each came up with ideas of how to make money then we had a vote.  We had to cost each of the activities so we knew we were going to be able to make money. We also took part in an outdoor maths lesson about time and estimating where we had to estimate how many hops, skips or runs we could do in 90 seconds. We found out that 90 seconds is a LONG time when you are running up and down the playground!

E safety

This afternoon we have talked about e safety and how to make sure we stay safe online. We have talked about how to safely share information and who we should share it with as well as thinking about gaming and keeping our information private. We have begun to design posters and talked about our use of technology in school. We also looked at the CEOP logo and talked about how we can report things that make us uncomfortable. Here are some games that may help you to stay safe online;  https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/6-internet-safety-games-kids-cyber-smart/

Brilliant books

Image
Adventure, fantasy, sci-if : there are so many genres to choose from and sometimes it is hard to know what to choose. We have read a range of authors from Ahlberg to Williams, yet there are so many we haven’t read..YET! To highlight some of our favourites, we chose a  brilliant read  to recommend to others. We  crafted super sentences  to write a  blurb , which will hopefully encourage someone else to read the book. Which book would you like to read next?
