Five ways to wellbeing

Image
For Children’s Mental Health Week 2023, the Mental Health Ambassadors are encouraging everyone to connect with others in healthy, rewarding and meaningful ways.   When we have healthy connections – to family, friends and others – this can support our mental health and our sense of wellbeing. By spreading the word about mental health, we can help to build understanding of children’s mental health – and the different ways we can support young people. This morning, as part of Mental Health week our Mental Health Ambassadors did an assembly for the school all about the Five ways to wellbeing. They shared what they had learnt and discussed at the Health Champions workshop and also led their own yoga session.

Inuit inspired sculptures

The Leopards were so enthused this afternoon to learn about Inuit art culture. We looked at different styles of art including printing and stone sculptures, then thought about the process of making our own sculptures using wood. The children started by drawing and cutting out an animal template in class. Next, we went up to the woods to saw and split the wood before drawing around the template on the wood. Some children also managed to start to whittled the outline of their animals.

What a magical Christingle service. Thank you so much to everyone from our village community who joined us. Thank you as well to Rev. Adele and our Giraffes for leading the service.
