Heartsmart ❤️ Being grateful

Today in Heart Smart we explored what it meant to be grateful and what we were grateful for.  Once we had discussed some ideas, the Leopards were challenged to make the largest paper chain full of all the things they were grateful for. ❤️

Science - Joints 💪🏽

This afternoon, in Science, we carried out some simple, comparative and fair tests to help us understand the purpose of joints.  A joint is where two or more bones meet and connect.  We discussed how humans need the skeleton and muscle for support and how parts of the human body can bend easily because the skeleton has lots of small bones and joints.  After watching a video we did our own investigation to understand how joints work.  Part 1 of our investigation, we took it in turns to reach for our water bottle and take a sip. We observed the movements we made and how the joints in out arm, wrist and hand help us to do this. We then repeated the move tan however this time we slid a cardboard tube over our arms to cover the elbow to see what effect this would have.  Part 2 of our investigation, we threaded a piece of string through a straw and attempted to bring the end of the string together. Counting in French 🇫🇷

In French, the Leopards have started to learn numbers. Today we practiced counting to 10! 🇫🇷

Yoga Session 🧘‍♀️🧘

This afternoon the leopards had a yoga session.  Yoga can i mprove focus, memory, self-esteem, academic performance, and classroom behaviour, and can even reduce anxiety and stress therefore we discussed how this would be beneficial in our classroom and decided to give it a go!  Safe to say some of the yoga poses were not as easy as we thought!
