Leopards@taddy

We had the Lego out this afternoon to see if we could figure out how to make a moving vehicle using gears, pulleys and motors. We are then going to use this idea to power the Mars rovers we are making.

On Friday we paired up and completed a series of exercises in the hall. We are going to complete these exercises over the next few weeks to improve our fitness and stamina. We worked well with our partners, encouraging and supporting one another and had lots of fun.

We have been practising reading strategies to help us understand and enjoy reading. If you use some of these strategies when you are reading to an adult 5 times a week, you can record which ones you used in your reading journal.

  Our new prayer corner has been much admired.  When we  have written a prayer, we roll it up and post it in the cross.  Come and have a look in Leopards' classroom.  Feel free to add a prayer of your own.

Today the children have been working on a plan for their own adventure story. They have carefully designed 3 imaginary words and planned senses to describe the setting in more detail.  For additional homework , the children will bring home a copy of their plans and the success criteria that we will use to mark our work . Please ask children to talk through their ideas.

Year 3 Leopards confidently made numbers using base 10, place value counters and a place value abacus. They compared the numbers and recorded the number sentences using < and >.

Excellent work this morning from leopards . They used but, or, yet, so conjunctions to join sentences then edited previous writing to improve using these conjunctions ! 

Leopards Class wrote a leaflet to persuade people to visit Lilliput . We then marked our work against a success criteria.
