Shared Reading 📖

During our English lessons this week, the Leopards had the opportunity to read aloud to their peers. Reading aloud can support all children as they hear pronunciation and fluency of words. 
The children were all super engaged and motivated and by reading to their peers, they were able to explore new vocabulary together and explore the book as a team. It was great to see the children’s confidence and how comfortable they were to read out loud!

A taste of Narnia - our Turkish delight experience 🍬

This week in class, we had a magical and mouthwatering experience that brought our reading of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to life - quite literally!  As we journeyed through C.S. Lewis’s enchanted world of Narnia, we paused to try one of its most iconic (and tempting) treats: Turkish delight (covered in chocolate of course) For those who may not know, Turkish delight plays a rather infamous role in the story. When Edmund first meets the White Witch, she offers him a warm drink and a box of magically delicious Turkish delight - a gesture that begins his betrayal of his siblings. C.S. Lewis describes the treat in such an irresistible way that we were all curious: What exactly does Turkish delight taste like? So, we decided to find out for ourselves.
