Earthquakes 🌎

In topic this week, we started looking at earthquakes. We recapped key facts about tectonic plates and plate boundaries  

We talked through the causes and consequences of an earthquake. 

In order to support the children with the physical process that causes an earthquake, we pushed together two pieces of wood covered in sandpaper and tried to slide them in different directions. We found that the blocks became ‘stuck’ and then move when they have stored more energy in the blocks released.
