States of Matter

We had a great afternoon investigating states of matter. We explored unusual states of matter, including honey, marshmallows, jelly and ooblek. We then looked at changing states of matter, including water evaporating to become a gas then turning back into a liquid as condensation. We also heated our jelly and observed it turn from a solid to a liquid, then back into a solid again as we cooled it in the fridge.

 To finish the year, the children made bow and arrows, boats, dens, whittled sticks for part of their role play and made swings . I loved this session- the children came up with wonderful ideas, thinking about all the things they'd done over the year.  Thank you all for making our Forest schools sessions so special, I can't wait for next year with you all!
