Lines of longitude and latitude 🎈🌍

Image
This week in geography, our classroom took to the skies – almost literally – as the children explored lines of longitude and latitude using… balloons! Using brightly coloured balloons as our mini globes, the children carefully drew the Equator, the Prime Meridian, and other key lines to help them understand how we locate places around the world. This hands-on activity helped bring a tricky topic to life in a fun and memorable way. It was wonderful to see the children so engaged and curious.  🎈🌍

The Buxton opera house have very kindly offered to come back this term and help us explore more drama. The children have been focussing on animals such birds and snakes.  We explored movements of these animals using our bodies to create a dance.

Varmints 🥀

This term, we have been reading our new book ‘Varmints’. The book tells the story of a lonely varmint, living in an idyllic world that is suddenly destroyed by the arrival of a grey, high rise city.  In order to help support the varmints, we decided to plant and care for our own seeds 🌸
