Investigating sates of matter

 Leopards were investigating states of matter - solids, liquids and gases.

We already know some facts about them and we have lots of questions.

We acted out how the particles move in solids, liquids and gases.

The solids group!
In a solid, the particles are close together in ordered rows. They move a little bit
on the spot. We organised into 2 rows. We stood close to each other. Each
person  gently moved on the spot.



Liquids group! 

The particles are quite close together, but can move around each

other easily. They move quite a bit, moving gently past each other. 

We tried to show this by staying close to each other but moving gently around.






The gases group 
In a gas, the particles can move around very quickly in all directions. There is a
lot of space between each particle.
We spread out around the space . We moved quickly around the space in different directions.

A taste of Narnia - our Turkish delight experience 🍬

This week in class, we had a magical and mouthwatering experience that brought our reading of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to life - quite literally!  As we journeyed through C.S. Lewis’s enchanted world of Narnia, we paused to try one of its most iconic (and tempting) treats: Turkish delight (covered in chocolate of course) For those who may not know, Turkish delight plays a rather infamous role in the story. When Edmund first meets the White Witch, she offers him a warm drink and a box of magically delicious Turkish delight - a gesture that begins his betrayal of his siblings. C.S. Lewis describes the treat in such an irresistible way that we were all curious: What exactly does Turkish delight taste like? So, we decided to find out for ourselves.
