The Stone Age


 Today in topic we starting looking at Stone Age tools. We looked at how tools changed over time due to human invention and ingenuity. We highlighted different types of tools and weapons from each period: Palaeolithic, Mesolithic and Neolithic and discovered how these inventions helped to change ways that the Stone Age people lived. 

The children chose which tool or weapon they would have chosen and why. We then got creative using sticks, string and clay to recreate our chosen tool or weapon.

A taste of Narnia - our Turkish delight experience 🍬

This week in class, we had a magical and mouthwatering experience that brought our reading of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to life - quite literally!  As we journeyed through C.S. Lewis’s enchanted world of Narnia, we paused to try one of its most iconic (and tempting) treats: Turkish delight (covered in chocolate of course) For those who may not know, Turkish delight plays a rather infamous role in the story. When Edmund first meets the White Witch, she offers him a warm drink and a box of magically delicious Turkish delight - a gesture that begins his betrayal of his siblings. C.S. Lewis describes the treat in such an irresistible way that we were all curious: What exactly does Turkish delight taste like? So, we decided to find out for ourselves.
