Welcome back!

 Wow! What a wonderful first day back.

 Today we started our first book in English ‘Leon and the place between’. 

As I was unable to take the children off to the circus on day one, I decided to bring the circus to them! 

As a class, we discussed what senses would be activated such as what we could see, smell and hear around the tent (including taste whilst polished off some popcorn 🍿)

A taste of Narnia - our Turkish delight experience 🍬

This week in class, we had a magical and mouthwatering experience that brought our reading of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to life - quite literally!  As we journeyed through C.S. Lewis’s enchanted world of Narnia, we paused to try one of its most iconic (and tempting) treats: Turkish delight (covered in chocolate of course) For those who may not know, Turkish delight plays a rather infamous role in the story. When Edmund first meets the White Witch, she offers him a warm drink and a box of magically delicious Turkish delight - a gesture that begins his betrayal of his siblings. C.S. Lewis describes the treat in such an irresistible way that we were all curious: What exactly does Turkish delight taste like? So, we decided to find out for ourselves.
