BFG


 At the beginning of this week, the children were introduced to their new book, The BFG.

The Leopards arrived into to classroom to find a giant handprint. 

We discussed who the handprint could belong to. 

We then read the first chapter of our book and discussed what ‘it’ could be based on the character description.

A taste of Narnia - our Turkish delight experience 🍬

This week in class, we had a magical and mouthwatering experience that brought our reading of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to life - quite literally!  As we journeyed through C.S. Lewis’s enchanted world of Narnia, we paused to try one of its most iconic (and tempting) treats: Turkish delight (covered in chocolate of course) For those who may not know, Turkish delight plays a rather infamous role in the story. When Edmund first meets the White Witch, she offers him a warm drink and a box of magically delicious Turkish delight - a gesture that begins his betrayal of his siblings. C.S. Lewis describes the treat in such an irresistible way that we were all curious: What exactly does Turkish delight taste like? So, we decided to find out for ourselves.
