The lion, the witch and the wardrobe 🦁🧙‍♀️🧝‍♀️

To begin our final half term, the Leopards started their new book, ‘The Lion, the witch and the wardrobe’ 🦁🧝‍♀️


As the children entered the classroom this morning, they got to experience walking through our own version of a wardrobe emerging into the ‘other world’ where we used our imagination to picture the scene, snow falling onto the trees and covering the ground. 


We then started to read our new book which some children were already familiar with! They were super excited! 

We were introduced to the characters Lucy and Tumnus and created sentences about them using relative clauses to give more information about what we had learnt so far!

The children were enthusiastic about getting into role and are looking forward to exploring the land of Narnia 🦁❄️🧝‍♀️

Carsington Water 🦆

Wow, what a day at Carsington Water! We enjoyed a day filled with adventure, learning, and hands-on activities in the great outdoors. The day began with an exciting lesson from the ranger, where we learned all about where our water comes from. The children even got to try filtering water themselves—a fascinating and eye-opening activity!  We then explored the bird hut, where we spotted a variety of wildlife and deepened our understanding of nature. We visited the interactive water system exhibit, where the children had fun discovering how water is managed and conserved.  After that, we ventured into the woodlands, where creativity took over as the children used natural materials to create their own stunning pieces of animal art. With the weather on our side, the day wouldn’t have been complete without a visit to the park, where the children had a fantastic time burning off some energy! Manchester Museum 🏛️

Wow! What an incredible day year 3 and 4 had on Tuesday!  Our educational trip to Manchester museum to view the Ancient Egyptian exhibition was such a wonderful and exciting opportunity to help bring our learning to life. We were able to deepen our understanding of our current topic Ancient Civilisation as well as explore other exhibits such as the Natural world.
